Chad Haggerty has spent most of his life working in the criminal justice system.

In his mid-30’s he chose to go to law school so that he could help the people that needed the benefit of his experiences most – people accused of crimes.

Before attending law school, Chad had a 17-year career in the RCMP. Far too often, he saw people accused of crimes being treated harshly and unfairly. It was during this time that Chad grew to respect the defence lawyers he encountered. His work left him with an understanding that many of those charged with offences were dealing with the trauma they had suffered in their lives.

After completing his undergrad degree in Criminal Justice with honours, he obtained his Juris Doctor from the University of Calgary Faculty of Law in 2019. He completed his articles with John Hooker in Calgary.

Chad Haggerty's professional, personal, and educational experiences have left him with an in-depth understanding of the criminal justice system. He brings almost 2 decades of police experience into the courtroom. This unique perspective allows an understanding of how police approach investigations. Beyond that, his personal experience and background gives him an understanding of the complex social problems that marginalized individuals face on a daily basis. He is committed to providing his clients with legal advice in a safe and judgment-free zone.

He believes that all individuals should be treated with respect and compassion and prides himself on assisting his clients at all stages of their matters, including providing pre-charge advice.
